After a long awaited hiatus, BE:HYPED is
returning better than ever! We’re keeping our ears out for some of the best talent the Boston area has to offer! We’re going to be featuring several acts, covering a wide variety of genres. If you’re worried
your music isn’t “mainstream enough”. Don’t. We’re looking for a special combination of passion, skill and dedication to the craft. Below you’ll find the submission guidelines:

A short bio (we wanna get to know you and your journey!)
HD pics (headshots and live performance shots a plus, but not mandatory)

Lauryn Hill: Singer Arrives 2 Hours Late for Performance in Atlanta, Multiple Reports Say

Facing harsh criticism from fans, Hill responded with an heartfelt open letter to apologize. She goes on about the "artistic process", and remarks how doesn't have an "on/off switch" pertaining to her creative process. She closes with " My true audience knows emphatically that I care. It isn't possible to affect people in any deep and meaningful way without putting sacrificial time in." Hopefully she will make it a priority to make it to her shows on time from now on. I don't show up late to shows because I don't care. And I have nothing but Love and respect for my fans. The challenge is aligning my energy with the time, taking something that isn't easily classified or contained, and trying to make it available for others. I don't have an on/off switch. I am at my best when I am open, rested, sensitive and liberated to express myself as truthfully as possible. For every performance that I've arrived to late, there have been countless others where I've performed in excess of two hours, beyond what I am contracted to do, pouring everything out on the stage.
Because I care so deeply about the artistic process, I scrutinize, have perfectionist tendencies, and want space made for spontaneity, which is not an easy process, with the many moving parts on the road. Some days we are more successful than others re time. However, the vitality that is infused into the performances is always appreciated by the audiences, who may not know exactly what it took to accomplish. What hasn't been touched upon by the media, I'm sure, are the hundreds of people who rushed the stage and stayed in excess of an hour after the show ended last night, just to connect.
Our challenge is to figure out the best way to accommodate the vitality, spontaneity, and spirit that make the performances worthwhile and special to begin with, while also making that experience available and accessible to others. If I didn't Love and respect the art, I wouldn't be doing this. The audience and I should have that in common.
My true audience knows emphatically that I care. It isn't possible to affect people in any deep and meaningful way without putting sacrificial time in.
I have nothing but Love and appreciation for the fans in Atlanta, and regret not being able to give you a full show. We are figuring out a plan to make it up to you, and will announce details as soon as we have them.

From humble beginnings as a hometown hero, to local legend and beyond, this breakout artist has her sights set for greatness. With incredibly smooth vocals, impassioned lyrics, and a musical sensitivity beyond her years, she blends together an amalgamation of genres, what's popular, traditional and more. From the hardcore fan to casual listener, everyone can agree that McCarthy manages to paint a harmonious tapestry of harmonically rich and sonically pleasing sounds. Needless to say, it's not a stretch to assume she'll soon cement her place in the industry as one of the greats. Having just inked a deal with the award-winning music firm Big Noise, who will be providing her with invaluable tools, such as career and creative direction, artist development, project management and publicity, it's fair to say she will soon be a household name.

Nineties-kids, rejoice!

The 35-city tour is set to start July 8th in Kansas, and ends August 28th in California. The musical acts reportedly will perform some of their hits from the '90s and early 2000s. The tour makes its way to Boston August 14th, 2016 at the Boston House of Blues. However tickets go on sale Friday, April 29th 10pm EST. So any nostalgia-fueled New Englanders should get your tickets early to avoid the heartbreak of not being able to get relive the past with some of your favorite artists.
